Audio for a Road Trip!

If your family is taking any road trips this summer, try passing some of the time with these family-friendly audio books.  All of the suggestions below are from series and many of the audio productions come with more than one title per set.  Audio books help develop listening skills and if the story grabs your child's interest, you might be surprised as to how long it can hold their attention - especially while riding in the car.  So if you're heading out on a trip this summer, check out some audio books from the library to bring along for the ride!

The Roscoe Riley Series by Katherine Applegate
Roscoe Riley is a first grader who perpetually finds himself in a little bit of trouble that lands him in time-out.  But not to worry - once Roscoe explains himself, we all understand how he got there as well as what he meant to have happened.  Be ready to share some laughs along the way.
The Mercy Watson Series by Kate DiCamillo
This quirky, lively series is sure to become a family favorite.  Mercy Watson is a pig who lives with Mr. and Mrs. Watson.  This pig is the treasured darling of the family and loves nothing more than hot, buttered toast.  Each story is filled with action and silly scenes and interesting characters - this is one not to miss.
